Today most GMs would have won with white, but in Alekhine's time it was a different story... One simply couldn't resist it.

After black sacs his queen then recaptures the white rook on d8 then Mieses moves bishop to e2?????? Clearly d3 is correct. Black is going to lose after white bishop to d3 and strong play by white. no?

Thank you brucewallace2, a like each of your videos

Rook, Knight and pawn for the queen in a stabilized position where the queen can't exert her dynamic possibilities is probably correct; The rook white rook is unactive and the white pieces aren't active while Black pieces are all coordinated. It's at least equal no matter Fritz !

very nice video.
but i am skeptical about your comment that the position at 6:00 is level. was this from alekhine's annotations? is seems like black can still attack with ...a5 and ...b4.

this game is too much
Good game, but still I think queen sacrifice wasn't worth it if white did indeed played well.

Objectively your right. Alekhine commented that he could play it without risk. With best play white should not lose the game. However over the board it's a different matter.
