  • Its very good that the Russians think about alternative Grand Strategy, but the way Igor is proposing it isnt going to work in Russia. This is because he is proposing to do it American style, where the private libertarian think-tanks develop public policies outside government civil service. This is going to antagonize Putin and his government as well as the Communist opposition and other left-leaning forces and even probably more conservative members of parliament.

  • 'Fusion with NATO will return OUR civilization into the first rank of players, otherwise the Asian and the American civilizations advance faster'. If its not a gaffe, but a deliberate Eurocentric view, its, I think, unattainable because a. US has little patience with Eurocentric views. b. NATOs sole purpose was to keep Russia out c. Most Europeans dont consider Russia as part of their civilization they (a hidden racism plays a part) consider Russia as vaguely threatening, alien entity.

  • NATO is evil. Joining NATO=joining devil.
