The angle backfired, Look at what happened a year later with Owen. Yeah Bret signed with WCW before then. All im saying is look at the evidence.

In my point of view Vince made it look like it was a storyline, With Bret obviously signing for WCW. Listen to this closely, If WCW wanted to capitalise on this angle, Which looked real, wouldn't they have debuted him sooner? My point is, Bret was still under contract and they had him sit out like many talents in WWF and they were coming up with a scenario for bret's return. Then the rest is history, Damn how obvious is it to have JR interview the owner about supposed candid things.

The screwjob was totally real.. there are still people who think it was part of the show. Fuck no it wasn't..Bret clocked Vince like a bitch.. broke bones in his hand and Vince had to be carried out of the locker room like Opie from Maybury.

@tacospartan This was as real as the wwe got. there were only 3 people that had knowledge of what was going to happen besides vince, and that was the referee of the match, shawn michaels, and either Pat Patterson or Gerald Brisco. No one else had any clue what was going to happen.

Yup correct, this was certainly not scripted. (HBK might have known whatever info he knew at the time), but it was never scripted. And I mean c'mon, for gods sake Bret...if Vince McMahon didn't make wise business decisions to protect his business, and I must stress, this is BUSINESS today, that is why you were getting paid stupid amounts of money Bret.
