RIP Ross MacManus (dad of Elvis Costello) who was the one who sang this ad, with the actor miming, sadly passed away. The lady who sang the flake commercial also died this week - 2 great voices and commercials - wish we could go back in time. How many ads from today will we remember in 40 odd years time??? How many dads recreated this ad in their kitchen? Brilliant innocent times. Thanks Ross!

I don't know about that! I was too young to remember this ad but my Dad used to sing the jingle all the time and now whenever I see R Whites I always end up humming the whole damn tune. I think it would be more effective than a lot of the lame ads today; half of which you can't even figure out what they're advertising.

My friend is obsessed with this, and won't stop talking about it!
This advert, to be honest, wouldn't be very effective if it was shown on the TV now. But it is still good!
