I must say it's not really acapella, since it's not voice only, but very near. Worth listening, completely!
This Is a version of the Carpenters song with Karen's sweet and perfect voice, and some beat instruments, such as drums, and bass, and some of Richard's parts, only. This is actually one of the audio channels from the SACD, and it's really clean. It's enough to close your eyes and have Karen Carpenter singing exclusively for you, as if she were in the same place as you or if you were in the studio having her singing with no intruments but drums and bass. Isn't this voice simply perfect? Love Karen Carpenter.

  • How did you get this version?

  • @anuchid29 Hi, this is from the Carpenters SACD The Singles 1969-1981. I am taking this opportunity to say to everybody who liked my videos that I am glad that you guys took the time to watch it and liked it, because I love it too. Karen Carpenter is perfect. Or course by listening to this I am not turning Richard's talents down, since I think that that guy is a genius. But in my opinion, Karen's voice doesn't even need accompaniment for so perfect it is. Check my other videos.

  • I LOVE KAREN OMG!!! THIS sounds exquisite===I jJUST started working on this song today!! unfortunately i screwed up the mix didn't mean for the second vocal to be up that high...needed to fatten up my vocal UNLIKE GODDESS KAREN!!! .. she is just SOOO InTERpretive!!!

  • @MusicDevas Hi, I like your version of This Masquerade, you do sing pretty well, but I just think that maybe the voice track could have been just a little bit lower, I mean less loud, you know, english is my second language. But it is great. And thank you very much for your comment, I really appreciate it, thank you.

  • @blueman2bass joker

  • nothing special about this at all, mediocre at best . George Benson Owns this song !!!

This version may be ok for teaching grade school at best.

  • Totally agree...a bit eerie at first ...but so unique. I appreciate you putting it together. Especially good match for this song. I know us big time carpenters fans have sweet Karen on our minds a bit more than usual because soon the anniversary of her passing coming up Feb 3rd. Since I don't have the equipment or know how to make videos myself, I especially love the videos. I also love the fact that their music is always gaining more fans all over the world.

  • Stunning voice. Pure perfection. Prefer Karen's voice solo -- but I have to say, I really miss Richard's stellar piano solo. It just needs to be there!

  • I'm so glad to have found this song. It is such a beautiful tune (acapella or close to it). Couldn't help but sing along to it and in Karen's key. What a voice! *****

  • A request though... I would love to hear "Solitaire." It's probably my MOST favorite of all. :)

  • I have listened to nearly all of your (near) a capella versions here, and I have to say this is probably my FAVORITE of them all. I have the biggest goosebumps hearing this. I have long thought this was one of Karen's best vocal performances, and one of Richard's best arrangements. This takes just enough of the arrangement and Karen's stunning vocal and it's just... wow. WOW. Thrilling.

  • I hope RC doesn't have these taken down, or ...perhaps, he is our mystery poster? a CD of these tracks, with as littte as necessary accompaniment, maybe him playing a Bossendorff or somtehing, would be amazing...a tribute to her gift...

  • listen to this on a decent pair of speaker and add some slight reverb or pesuedo surround effect...SURREAL...thanks for putting these up ...

  • There's no words to describe her voice.

    I just love it.
