Low scale breaking wave R&D. This simulation was created using some of the new features of an upcoming RF release. Rendered using AdvancedRender (native Cinema 4D engine). C4D r12. One shader for water (all meshed) and particle rendering for the foam.

Preview video will be uploaded.

Simulation Details:

SimTime: Grid+Splash = about 12.5 hours
Foam: About 10 hours

Grid-Meshes + Splash-Meshes: about 4 hours all in all, could be less though.

Rendertime:

High. Low priority process, running RF simulations aside. At 99% CPU usage the average rendertime per frame was 15 minutes. 27min max, under 1 minute lowest. Rendering consumed up to 15+ GB RAM. 1280x720, 250 frames, 25fps. Real time scale.

  • awesome as always :)

  • @Daxster1995

    thanks ;-)

  • Yep. Looks real.

  • @dkamm65

yep...almost ;-) Still not slow-motion proof but if motion blur was added and some nice integration to real footage at this speed, then it could be awesome :-)

  • Cool!.

It would be great to see it applied to a composite with a real footage.

  • yeah sweet dude.

Can the servo motors be used to drive objects through realwaves in the new RF?

  • Very nice 'super-real' simulation! Thank you for sharing!

  • I envy you're skills......and computer.
