  • Gary Cooper is one of 3 favorite actor's (ever) of mine. I agree also about wishing there were more interviews of Gary. Jimmy Stewart and Cary Grant are my other 2 favorites.

  • As in any generation, including ours, there are patriots who put their country first despite its faults.

Cooper was a thoughtful, humble man and these words, coming from him, carry weight and sincerity.

  • He sure was one of the most beautiful men who ever lived but, boy, listen to him squirming to avoid conceeding that, far from being heroic, those 'brave' ' pioneers', so mythologised by John Ford in movies of the 40s and 50s, were nothing more than self- righteous ( oh yes, they had god on their side!)vicious pillagers and genocidal murderers. The great lie on the american 'pioneering spirit'.

  • I love gary Cooper!!! :)

  • @RichardElden Does not mean they weren't good; people shouldn't judge a film by how well it does at the box office. You only know if a film is good or bad after you have paid to see it. Several times I went to the movies then came out afterwards wondering why I had wasted my money. By the time he died there was a new generation on the screen, Brando, Robert Wagner, to name just 2. My original comment was correct in that he had top billing right to the end; same with Spencer Tracey.

  • I love gary copper too much. long live his greatness.

  • As "stupid" as Ike? What planet do you live on? Have you ever bothered to read Ike's collected letters? Any man brilliant enough to hold together the Allies coalition in WWII was brilliant enough. One of the most spectacularly stupid comments I've ever read here. And Coop was not "stupid" either.

  • Gary Cooper was universally loved. One of my favourite actors; never took second place to anyone, a star right to the end.

  • I believe Gary Coopers favorite quote was, "I ain't never seen a horse that can't be rode, and I ain't never seen a rider that can't be throwed."

  • Thank you, I wish there were more interviews with Gary out there for us to see.
