  • Slow lorises are threatened by deforestation & the exotic pet trade, are hunt them for their large eyes as local traditional medicine, turned into a wine said to alleviate pain, or eaten dried or smoked for food. They are listed either as "Vulnerable" or "Endangered" by the IUCN. A popular but illegal pet in Japan and United States. Its popularity due to popular YouTube videos showing them being tickled.

Google "slow loris + wiki". Read the wiki about them for yourselves...

  • @oregoncoyote1 ,

i dont understand your comment.....did you understand my video otherwise....

  • @lindaquinda

i sure did linda, your very very cute and funny.

my problem is with all the "cute" you tube loris videos that everyone loves watching makes so many want to buy one, contributing to why they are currently endangered. so while your vid do not exploit them directly, it does feed the frenzy. i'm not saying you're personally responsible but i felt that some folks need to be informed that these lovely animals need help and aren't just toys to be purchased for entertainment.

  • @oregoncoyote1 ok i change my description of the video, i forget is hard for some people to use their brains

  • That is so funny! Is her name Lori, I wonder?

  • no, the animal i mimic is called slow lori, exactly the slow lori sonya

  • PS.....BREED MORE MICE! They come in COLORS so they arent WILD anymore. LOL and perhaps we could also set all the rats and mice free back to their native lands (USA USA) and let them do what they do.....

  • LMAO...youll make a great PETA freak someday, but you arent helping the slow loris's out there in the wild. If you REALLY CARED you consider more constructive ways to spend your time...like perhaps acting school?? LOL Still tho I got a chuckle and thank you for that...now-fly away to the rainforest, you cant save the ones in captivity nor can they be returned to the wild, let them do the job of raising awareness for the ones still free and maybe you can actually do something to help.

  • this is about the stupidest video i've seen on youtube. I love the fact your targeting someone who has a captive bread lori, who's clearly taking great care of it. Yet you make no effort to go after the hunters and people causing deforestation. Get a clue, and a life.

  • Fantastic ....

BUY A DOG, NOT A LORIS

  • "The Stranger

  • @lindaquinda Haha, I understand what you were trying to do with the video. I hate to say it but sadly, many animal advocates are actually quite irrational and impossible to reason with, and over react or misunderstand other people, thinking like as if everyone else is evil and they are the only good guy/girl trying to save the animals. I have my own plans to protect endangered animals that are involved in the pet trade but most activists would hate my plan even though it's sensible.

  • aw... she forgot to reach for the umbrella, over and over :)

  • @goodapplesdope it was never my intent to suggest we release captive-raised animals into a wilderness. that doesn't work. in all likelihood it would be a death sentence for the animal. not counting animal rescues, i just find it disturbing that non-domesticated creatures are kept as pets. i could care less if they're "cute" or plain evil looking. we're discussing a concept here about what is the meaning of animal abuse and where to draw that line. lindaquinda and i on one side, you the other.

  • @oregoncoyote1 I agree that most animals should not be kept as pets, but introducing any animal that was born in captivity to the wild on increases the probability of it dieing. Most captive animals no little to nothing about the rue orginisims in their actuall ecoysystem. the Pygmy slow loris is a THREATENED animal. If you would like to help save these nice and cute animals, im sure you could google some animal rights trip to south east asia with a TRUSTED group to go and protest.

  • @goodapplesdope thank you so much for the clarifications. i only wish to inform people that "cute" wild animals aren't disposable toys, and that our individual actions have worldwide effect. if you think mind that wild animals are at risk, or think its OK to force animals to live in non-natural non-traditional environments because you use the justification they're "born in captivity", that's your freedom to believe. it's also my freedom to call you on it.
