Your song and video really moved me. I had know clue about your story. I think I stumbled upon the video on youtube.
I work with mentally ill offenders to help them build lives. I doubt there is a group that is more "voicless" than my clients. But they are gaing a voice now!

His lawyer wouldn't allow me to take the witness stand as I wanted and I was 16 yrs. old. She wanted both my youngest brother and I to speak with this judge in cambers separately. I also work with people who are suffering with Eating Disorders (all types). I suffered from Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa due to the CSA and I almost died. I've been "fully recovered" since 1994. Thank you, your mother, and your grandparents.

My parents divorce case was similar to your parents. We even lived in Fairfax County, VA. When I told the family court judge that I was being sexually abused by my father (I don't have contact and nor I don't that role) the judge told me, "Maybe he was teaching you about the birds and bees." He told me that if I didn't go on visitations with him with my 2 younger brothers he would put my mom in prison. I told him, "Go ahead!."

Elena, I met your grandparents while you and your mom lived in exile in Christchurch, NZ. I was active in ARCH and so was my mom. Since I've been 18 (1993), I've been advocating for abused children aka: "The Voiceless."

Im Glad she put it into words! im not sure Whether it was her own memories or Created memories, but this is also the story of my life! I wish someone had said this when I was a kid!
