Subtitles in English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil.

Created with Vocaloid2. What's Vocaloid? Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocaloid

This upload was a request. I was especially requested to use Luka in this song, so that's what I did. I made it sound like a big outdoor performance, but as you can hear, the process made the lyrics rather difficult to make out. Well, that's what subtitles are for! :) If this video creates an uproar among the Singaporeans, I'll delete this immediately! ;)

Song info:

Name: Majulah Singapura
(English: Onward Singapore)

Composer and lyricist: Zubir Said

Band: United States Navy Band

Further info on the song: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majulah_Singapura

Development history: I received the request on Sep 10th, but because of studies, I couldn't start until Sep 19th. I started at 8 am, and finished roughly at 11 am. I know the anthem is officially in F major, but the band played it in Bb major so I had to adapt. I used Audacity to add the reverb and mix the Vocaloid track with the instrumental track. I used Windows Movie Maker to mix the audio file with the picture.

  • =`'= y your name Esrael or should i say israel...

  • @nutcraker999 Actually, my silly name is what remains of my embarrassing days of Runescape addiction (a fantasy role-playing game). I wanted to make my name sound fantasy-like so I took the first two letters of my name and added the -rael to the end. Yeah, I know it resembles Israel, but so be it.

  • Luka sounds really nice here. Great job. 5/5. :)

Seems as though reverb will even give a nice effect if you only use one voice, instead of having a little choir.

  • Thank you for your comment!

Yes, I've noticed that just including multiple singers in the Vocaloid program doesn't really make the song sound much more natural. With reverb you can create the illusion of the singer singing in a real place (church, room, outdoors etc.), which makes the performance sound so much more lively.
