@yakojjy People were told to leave New Orleans 3 days prior to Katrinas arrival, as it was a Cat 5 at that time. YES 3 days. The news telling people this ahead of time can be found right here on youtube. With the Middle TN flooding just as with our Ga flooding, we received a foot of rain within a short period of time. NO WARNING. The waters rose that fast, and this was a 500 yr flood.

Katrina was the biggest joke ever in the countrys history The only reason Katrina was bad is because levees failed after the storm.... so yeah the nashville flood much worse....and all those people that stayed behind after all the warrings for wht 2wks come on...nashville much worse

@DoctorsAnLawyers because it was only a 2 day event with constant flooding, we didnt have much of a warning that that was going to happen, people were warned about katrina, nashville wasnt

I live in Nashville, most people have no clue how bad it was, because there was no National coverage. I was impressed both during and after with the way this City came together and helped each other, race had nothing to do with it man. It was about helping fellow human beings in their time of need. So please don't pull the race card somewhere that it is not valid. We also had lower Broadway (that was up to 12 ft under water) up and running for the CMA festival one month later.

@FirstLiasis Why was this flagged as spam?

@Supadave7 My husband works for a company that deals with people around the country. One of his customers was a Naval officer who worked in the Katrina area, and he said the flooding in Nashville was as bad as Katrina. Not worse, but it definitely was as bad.
@DoctorsAnLawyers You're comparing Nashville flood to katrina? Nashville may have been hit really hard in some places but katrina destroyed thousands of homes across half the state of Louisiana. How can you honestly compare a river to an ocean, and a city to a state? Not only racist you're ignorant too

Where is the rage? Where is the outcry? Where are hoardes of people up on their roofs hollering for whitey to come and help them? Where is Fema? Where is the National Guard? This is much worse damage on a much bigger scale that there was in the Hurricane Katrina area. All I have seen is people, mostly whites, helping each other and doing what needs to be done.
