While the Mu Beta chapter of Omega Psi Phi won the UTA NAACP's second annual Greek Step Show, the buzz surrounded the two competing sororities that had similar introductions and themes.
The Lambda Chi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta went before the Zeta Mu chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, but both had Godfather/mafia themes.

  • Ummm. Yea. So this is what Black Greeks dwell on at UTA....steps and theme stealing? How about service? How about positive images? They sound and look like high schoolers trying to be seen. Where were the advisors? And who encouraged the reporters to do this slaw story?

  • Aww! My old stompin grounds! So, anyway on to the drama...wow! Funny how this went on after DST came back to campus. Can't they all just get along?

  • both need to work on their outfits!!! I get them both a 3 out of 10!!

  • those are some big girls.

  • ...Why the hell is this on youtube? This shit sends the wrong image of Greek life to Future College Students and Greeks...

  • @22anavdb Forgive me sistah however; hazing has been going scents as early as the late 40s it came from the military that's why I said why you don’t just go to the military. But forgive me if my behavior was out of line also being in a war is a life time pledge with your life I don’t think anyone can defend that you can't collate that with pledging I have been in the phrat 20yrs. Secondly Marine boot camp is pledging.

  • @collinsmichael0355 I'm not a man sweetie. I am a military brat and I can tell you boot camp is not only worse than any pledging, but people get hurt and have died from doing it on many occasions. I'm not an Omega so I don't know what they do. Like it or not, pledging is a part of NPHC history. Before the early 90s, there was one way in: to pledge. Now, it's not. You can become a member without pledging, so if you chose to, that is on you.

  • @22anavdb Well if it was white boyz beating you it will be a diffrent story and if you really think that your getting beat to give you a scents of belonging or being "mad" is no more truth to that than just suffering pain. Why dnt you just join the military to prove that your a man. Omega is the best however if there is brothers out their that dnt know their history then their not serous about Omega then. But good men dnt come to Omega because of the beating so that's our lose.

  • @pistonear that is messed up that happened to him. There is nothing right about that situation. All I am saying is the NPHC is not to blame. This is not 1980. People know they can pay their money and come in without pledging. People chose to take part in these unregulated underground processes. I personally think it needs to come above ground so people can stop losing their lives. People are killing people, not the organization.

  • @collinsmichael0355 It's not about getting beat. I believe you can have a well rounded pledge process with no physical beatings at all. Do people blame the NFL when a football player breaks his leg on the field? Of course not. All NPHC organizations are non hazing. I didn't pledge because I had to, I pledged because I wanted to. I know lots of "made" people who don't do anything, but I know a lot more who just paid their money and know no history.
