What kind of vswr/bandwidth does that give you with the antenna so close to the ground?
Tehrasha 4 years ago
To memory the swr was ok, below 1:5:1.
Took abit of tuning, but full output power from the rig without use of a tuner.
I now have changed this antenna into a low 20mtr dipole.

Thanks for the comments, but i now have changed the 160mtr ant into a 80mtr ant, more activity on 80mtrs here in zl and vk.
Now having fun again on 80mtrs with my low antenna.

It works ok, the main thing is that it is resonent for the frequency.
Ofcourse it would be great to have it much higher off the ground.
I have worked stations upto about 500kms away with 5 by 9 signals ,and i am only using 100watts output power.
Still early days yet, there is an ssb 160mtr contest for zl/vk on the 7th of July so will test it out during that.
