@aptex In your mind the majority of conservatives have a problem with civil rights, woman being allowed to vote and interracial marriage? You can't be serious. OK, using that logic I will say that because Democrats supported Robert Byrd for 50 plus years then they are all KKK supporters. And, because dems voted against civil rights acts in congress that means today all liberals are against black people being given equal rights. Liberals love abortions too, obviously. Oh and they HATE freedom!

@dagorian86 That was my point. Healthcare isn't ever free and people (like zlordz) use that phraseology to be purposely deceptive. Also, I highly doubt you've ever experienced a purely private insurance system as none that I'm aware of exist in any modernized society. They are all influenced, regulated and partially funded through public means. Even when Bush was the president.

@gotlogg healthcare is not free anywhere to answer your question. The question is whether a private insurance system provides a better service or a public system... or hybrid of both. I ve personally experienced both and Im telling you without hesitation that a hybrid system is the way to go. A public option must run along side a private option to keep everything honest. in the absence of one, costs for either the taxpayer or the consumer rises rapidly depending on which system is remaining

Franken is right. We shouldn't count fixing early stages of cancer to our cancer survival rate. It should only be full blown stages of cancer that we should count. Man I'm so sick of this country and healthcare. I'm going to move to Cuba where people live long prosperous lives in harmony.

Why would I want a government monopoly on another industry? For over 200 years we the people have made this country, made this economy and helped each other. When the going gets tough its the people who turn it around. Now we're supposed to hope a European based system will take care of everything. Fuck that
