Nou Chee Her's Description: "The animation is an outside-interest project, created to promote Hmong culture through arts such as animation and motion graphics. Aside from that we simply want to see a Hmong folktale in action.
Xeem Xais is an old Hmong folk-tale, telling of a legendary hero, Xeem Xais. The world is set where demons and human lived on opposite side of the world. This scene is a segment from the story, where Xais and the demon, known as Nyan agree to a fair fight for claim the fate of Xais' aunt, whom has been kidnapped by the Demon to become his wife.
The animation is inspired by the style of Japanese anime. It was done in summer of 2008. An additional cel-shade is added to each character prior to the competition. Project took an estimated time of one month. Original concept artist and storyboard by Ntawv Her. Artworks, illustrations, and assisted cel-shading by Nou Chee Her. Primarily cel-shading done by Sue Her.
this is not hmong legend folk tale. It's a Thai/Lao legend which somewhere along the line got twisted to become hmong folk lord. Sinsye is not even hmong.

I've seen the original of this one, the frames were a lot smooth and not choppy at all. Maybe something with the uploading?...

This looks phenomenal. I hope this inspires you guys to make this into a full length feature film. Smooth out the animation and this has the making of a great film.
