  • where can I buy this sailing kit? Does it work on Puffin swift 14? Can you tell me how much is the cost? Thank you I'm very interested in buying one...

  • @5600hp We sell them on the net. Don't think I can put a link here but I can in the video description if there is not one already. Anyway it is SailboatsToGo with the usual ending you see on most ecommerce. You can also call me at 978 263 7598 (east coast). Yes it works on all the Puffins and Pakcanoes. Cost as shown is $799.

  • @5600hp Yeah, just checked the description and it does have a link to our site, right at the beginning. When I view the video, you can even see it right below the video as it plays (not in full screen mode).

  • is there room for my folding bicycle in your folding kayak? And when I'm done sailing, will I be able to ride my bike with the folding kayak on its storage rack? Or take them both on the NYC subway?

  • You could put your bike where the second passenger goes. As to transporting the sailboat, it is two bags (one for the boat, one for the sail kit). I don't think you could put both on a bike and I don't think you would want to manage 3 things (2 boat bags and a bike) on the subway.

  • My family has a 12 foot sloop-rigged Kolibri from the 70's which is a blast to take out. I was looking to get an 8- to 10-foot self-bailing sailboat sometime in the future, but they practically don't exist. A kit like this makes it a possibility to create the ideal sailboat from a self-bailing kayak.

  • Yes indeed. We offer sail kits for a wide variety of canoes, kayaks and dinghies, both inflatable and rigid (folding and non-folding).

  • Well, if I had a pocket boat that could turn a mile like this one, I'd be wearing the conga grin too!

  • looks like you had a blast :)

  • I guess I was being a bit silly. I live in Staten Island, NY, where I frequently commute by bike to Manhattan via the Staten Island Ferry. I use my full-size bike, which I chain up outside the office building but I also recently bought a folding bike...so I was just musing about kayaking from SI to Manhattan because the NY Parks Dept. here just issued its NYC "Water Trail" map online. I googled "folding kayak" and I came up with your youtube vid! Crazy daydream, huh?

  • Maho Bay, St. John, US Virgin Islands. One of my favorite places on this earth. Great for playing with my sailboats. And they have to be real portable, because I fly there on the airlines and so any boat I bring has to fit in my luggage.
