She finds the sodomite, Frederick, more offensive than others who've come through the Thrift. As if cutting his hair will make any difference in who he is. I too think sodomy is a sin, but so is adultery, albeit emotional -- in which she enourages her coworker, and fornification of which her father is guilty of with the singer. It's we humans who judge one sin worse than another. Granted, all have different consequences, but in God's eyes all sin is the same - rebellion against Him.

From the PBS Masterpiece Theatre website: The series first aired in 1996, ran through 2001. I didn't catch it when it aired then, but only saw it on rental DVD a few years ago. Been one of my absolute favs yet!
