Toby Hutcheon of the Queensland Conservation Council speaks about the need for Australia commit in Poznan, Poland to reduce emissions by at least 30% by 2020 in line with scientific requirements to keep global CO2 concentrations below 450 ppm.

Also the Rudd government needs to establish an Adaptation Fund, to assist our Pacific and immediate neighbours to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Rickardio54321, you were not paying attention: "It's hard to believe that we had a Howard government denying climate change ... Rudd did sign the Kyoto protocol ... now the second act ..." We should be well beyond Kyoto by now, but the Rudd government has STOPPED there, and has taken a position that amounts to writing off the Reef. It's as if climate change was not an election issue. Some have even said this is where Howard would be now had he not lost.
