Progressive Surprise-Fest! Shock of a life-time!
In November 2010, I left my home & paid a surprise visit to family in Zagreb, Croatia, for the first time in TEN years.
No one had seen me since the summer of 2000.
We went from house to house to progressively surprise each featured relative on my day of arrival.
Only my cousin Kristina was in on it from the beginning.
She video-taped the events............
Ten years is a loong time! And 5000 miles is FAR away!
A lot of work went into the making of this!
I would usually walk out of a room & say something (eg. asking for a glass of water). Sometimes the video will capture me, sometimes I'm out of frame. But you'll hear me.
I wish you could see the look on the people's faces. The camera didn't always capture it. But normally there was momentary shock & staring in stunned silence.
Believe it or not, I was actually a bit nervous. My Croatian was extremely rusty, & I had no idea how my arrival would be taken. Hence the nervous hat & sleeve adjusting.
Finally completed. Not the greatest quality, but the best I could do for the time being.
