Much has been made of the fact that Norwegian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik calls himself a Christian. However, in his Manifesto, Breivik explains what he means by the term "Christian," and he admits that he does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Did you watch the video? He said that Breivik is no Christian because he, well, just doesn't believe in Christianity. I guess that counts as not being a Christian? He didn't do it because of Christian teachings. He thinks the European culture, which has some roots in Christianity, is good.

The Muslim terrorists (I wouldn't go so far to blame Islam for all of them - but Muhammad's Sunnah gave a "good" basis for violence) a very strong believers and know Islam in and out.

Aha. To ban and persecute, to not let people decide for themselves, as the only way to achieve world peace (because no fight in the world is based on something else, like desire for money, land, power)...great argument :/

  • 18,508 Islamic terrorist attacks to 1 "Christian" attack by a "Christian" who does not believe in God or Jesus. Yeah...

  • No, Hes a muslim

  • @armandlluka A Christian European Hero for our race and heritage

  • "Is Anders Behring Breivik a Christian?" Yes.

By Breivik's definition, also agnostics and atheists are "cultural" Christians -> 3:43 . So you are one? For sure Dawkins is, Harris is, Hitchens was, Atkins...now, if someone of these does something bad, was it a Christian? Of course not.

The whole argument is irrelevant anyways as long as Jesus didn't tell us to do such things as Breivik did, and of course he didn't tell us to do so. He told us to love our enemies.

You never heard of "Cultural Christianity"? Maybe you should watch the videos you're writing comments to... ;-)

For Hitler - just no. Hitler was very much for Socio-Darwinsim, what might be about the opposite of Christianity. There were also attempts by the Nazis to replace or rename Christian symbols (I study Cultural Sciences in Germany, we had quite some stuff in that direction). We can tell from people around Hitler how much he condemned Christian morals.

As a fellow atheist I strongly disagree. Breivik was a patriot christian wanting christianity to flourish throughout Europe thus Knight Templer emblems and taking Richard the Lion heart as his mentor. Hitler’s influence by christianity was also similar as video footages show.

I never heard of cultural christianity but if that's the case surely Osama is culturally muslim as he racially deployed only arabs and wanted US military base out of Saudi but not other muslim countries.

  • @AlkalineZ3

Bin Laden at least strongly believed in Islam, while Breivik doesn't do so in Christianity. Crucial point...I'd assume that not believing in Christianity counts as not being a Christian. By Breivik's definition - cultural Christian - pretty much every European would be a Christian. Well, I'm European and I know way more Atheists or Agnostics than Christians. Some cultural influence doesn't make you member of a faith.

  • All religions are dangerous. All religions should be banned, persecuted and ridiculed! It's the only way to achieve world peace.
