Don Buck gave me and many others in the military a chance to showcase our skills, he shook my hand and told me i did a good job after i took 1st place in the 1987 AAU full contact championships, i fought out of my weight class in the main event and beat the champ that night.

My sensei knew him a bit. His widow authorized sensei to teach. When he got his black belt (or maybe 2nd degree?) Don Buck gave him a light kick to the chin. I've heard he was a great man. OSU!
