Right as soon as you watch this video, go get some pliers or a vise grip and find the little bump on your paypass credit cards. Smoosh it with the pliers or vise grip and test it next time you are at a place where they have remote Paypass RFID readers. Testing is important so that you know the vulnerable RFID tag is smooshed like a bug and you won't be vulnerable to someone swiping the info off your credit card remotely. Got other ideas for destroying the RFID chip? Leave them in the comments!

  • @gwunta Actually it is 40-bit since this video is from 2009.

  • LOL!! The info on the chip is 256 bit encrypted. Even if you got hte info off, you would not be able to do anything with it. You think the banks havent thought of this problem eventuating??? Any decent bank uses a remote check sequence in order to prevent this type of fraud. If your bank doesnt use a check sequence, then its not much of a bank

  • Some geek electronically tried to pick pocket me at WALMART on the reservation today . If someone is within one foot of you for more than 10 seconds-or just making you uncomfortable - Your being scanned. S T O P LOOK AT THEM IN THE EYE AND SAY "YOUR TOO CLOSE" . They will scury fast. Most likely to go scan someone else with less BALLS than you.

  • @shanoodlep did u know one in 7 people have their id stolen. Personally i think this wont do a whole lot to protect a person's id cuz I am willing to bet the lions share of id theft happens on the internet via intercepted bank transactions but this will atleast stop the small time people with scanners walking around malls and stores.

  • He is cute.

    Cute, but paranoid.

  • @resourcebasedeconomY could you send me a link?

  • psh, individual.

I'm better than individual, I'm a collection of organic compounds and chemical reactions.

Who happens to also be several numbers.

  • Stop feeding the system, do not use any credit card

Watch Zeitgeist addendum and study the Venus Project ideology

  • if rfid is so insecure, why would the banks guarantee you against fraud? somehow i don't think the banks like giving millions of $/£'s back to its customers due to fraud?

  • fuck RFID, i am not a NUMBER i am not a MACHINE i am an individual and i will not plug myself!!! no matter how much they force me too, il go live in the woods if i have too.
