This video aired in December 2000 on Hardball. P.J. O'Rourke discusses the personal and moral failings of outgoing President Bill Clinton and expresses optimism about an imperfect President-elect George W. Bush.

Skip to 0:33 for the segment in which Matthews infers the Clintons lack class when he asks O'Rourke: "What's the difference between [Ronald and Nancy Reagan] and [Bill and Hillary Clinton] besides class?"

Skip to 4:45 for the segment in which Chris Matthews calls then outgoing President Bill Clinton a "kniver" and agrees with P. J. O'Rourke that Clinton is the "guy who married the girl who did the law school homework for him," with Matthews shaking his head in agreement and stating, "Ah, you've got it nailed."

Skip to 11:45 for the segment in which Matthews characterizes the Rhodes Scholarship awarded to Bill Clinton: "Clinton won his Rhodes Scholarship by being a manager on one of the athletic events at Georgetown, on one of the athletic teams."

  • @janvandebong oh yeah, 'All the Trouble...' was written in '94.

  • @Claronium780 chances are that stems from his own disdain for Al Gore, described @ length in his book 'All the Trouble in the World'. He's both Republican and conservative, but hardly typical. Quite irreverent, really, I've read a number of his books, they're hilarious.

  • "I don't care how we won" - typical Republican/conservative
