A step by step tutorial I made to show you how to correctly access your memory modules and upgrade from 2GB to 4GB. Any questions? feel free to comment or message.

  • @kblake327 Nope doesn't matter. The 2.0 will accept the memory just fine. I bought the ram from owc

  • when i try to pop the ram up, it doesnt budge!!!

  • Be sure youve disengaged the ram clips on both sides of the chip, when you do this, the backside of the chip should rise. If not, you may have to gingerly pull them out.

  • Thanks man where can i buy the RAM from?

you know its DDR3 my macbook same yours

  • @seeman900 I cant post any direct links, just google DDR3 for aluminum macbooks.

  • Worked Great. Thanks for the step by step. Used memory from Crucial and worked fine.

  • MWAHAHAHAHAHA i watched this so i can get inside my macbook which is suffering from the red light issue, find that optical cord AND CUT THAT PEICE OF $#!+  apple forever!!!

  • What is the standard for the same model mac in terms of what it comes in. I ordered the 2GB RAM so will it have 1 x 2GB or 2 x 1GB. When i buy the 4GB will i be buying 2 x 2gb or just one more 2GB to add to the one already installed?

  • @AvenSkyGazer No it will not make any difference. The alubooks take DDR3 no matter the GHz

  • does it matter if i have the 2.0 GHz model? and where did you get the RAM from? thanks

  • great video! i have a problem though.

i managed to unscrew all screws with a philips 000 screwdriver, except the two middle ones on the bottom. Aren't the all screws the same? i havent got a 00 so i tried with 000 and 0. 0 is too big... i m not sure whats wrong with the 000.

has anyone had a similar thing?
