This is a great song written by ... and I learnt it from an Eric Bibb CD. Again I find any song that creates such strong visual imagery captivating and I just love the image of a young boy with his cape diving off a garage thinking he could fly, only to plummet to earth. What I find even more rewarding is the line 'he's acting like a kid, he did not know he could not fly .. so he did' I rate this as one of the best lines I have ever heard in any song, and as far as I am concerned you can stick it on my grave stone as a fitting epitaph... but not just yet.

  • When I was very young I tried to fly out the upstairs window because I thought I was growing feathers. Alas, they were just hairs on my arms. What a song. Love it. LOL

  • I still try that today.. I've spent half my life growing up.. so i have decided to spend the other half growing back down again...
