Even though this was the first episode of the series to appear on NBC [September 12, 1966], it wasn't the first to be produced- that honor went to the original pilot episode, telecast on November 14, 1966. Director James Frawley, however, won an Emmy as "Best Director of a Comedy" for this episode.
