Jonas Brothers Story - Chapter One - A Little Bit Longer

*Before going to their big show,Joe goes upstairs to make sure Nick s ready.*
JOE:Hey Nick,ready for the big show?
JOE:Nick?You up yet?
*Joe enters Nick s room only to find his brother lying in bed.Nick slowly wakes up and muffles a cough in his pillow.*
NICK:Can I keep on sleeping for 5 more minutes?he mumbled.
JOE:No,or else youre going to be late.
Nick,eyes still closed shut,slowly ran a hand in his messy curls and letted a couple of coughs escape his sore throat.He couldnt help but moan at the cracking pain.
JOE:Hey,you feelin okay?he asked softly with concern.Since Nick had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes about 10 months earlier,the fourteen year old had been weak,tired and frequently sick.The doctors were sure he would have a quick recovery of about 2 months,but Nick s immune system was still very weak.
NICK:Yeah,Im fine,Im just kinda tired I guess,he sighed.He stood up and putted a tshirt on before adjusting his OmniPod.Joe couldnt help but stare.He still couldnt get used to his little brother s frail figure.Nick had dropped 15 pounds in two weeks before he was diagnosed and still hadnt gained back all the weigh he had lost,even though he was taller then before.
JOE:Nick,if youre sick,Im sure we can replace the show to next-
NICK:No,Im fine Joe,really,I am.
JOE:If you say so...
NICK:Go back downstairs,Ill be there in about 10 minutes.
*Downstairs,in the kitchen.*
KEVIN:Hey,wheres Nick?he asked,his mouth full of cereals.
JOE:Getting ready.
He sat down and placed his hands together.
JOE:I think hes sick again.
A dark silence fell on the two boys.They could hear Nick coughing upstairs.They heard some gagging and the toilet flushing.
KEVIN:He threw up again?
JOE:Sounds like it,he replied with a sad smile.
A couple of minutes later,Nick arrived in the kitchen and greeted his brothers with a weak smile.Joe left the cereal bowl he had barely touched on the kitchen table and slowly stood up.
JOE:Ill be right back,Im just going upstairs.
Kevin,who sensed his usually funny and good humored brother s unusual sadness,decided to go upstairs to see what was upsetting him.
KEVIN:Hey Nick,Im going upstairs too.Ill be back in a few.
Nick nodded without much attention.Kevin quietly walked upstairs and glanced in Joe s room.The oldest brother quickly noticed tears on Joe s cheeks and realized that Joe was silently crying.
KEVIN:Hey buddy,whats wrong?he asked, sitting beside his brother.Joe quickly wiped his tears away as soon as he noticed his brother s presence.
JOE:Nothing,It s just...
KEVIN:Nick?,Kevin asked.Joe nodded.
JOE:Yeah.Hes always denying he needs a break,but it's easy to see that he's overwhelmed and needs to rest.I think we should...Joe stopped and frowned,thinking.
KEVIN:You think we should what?he asked.
JOE:I think we should put the tour on hold for a while.Not for a long time, just a little while so Nick can get some time to rest and get better.
KEVIN:Its a good idea...but you have to think about the medias too.Theres going to be rumors.And Nick will never let us put the tour on hold because of him,he would feel too guilty.And the concerts are already all planned,the fans bought their tickets...
JOE:But look at Nick.Hes alaways sick and you know as well as I do that he feels like crap.Dude,hes falling asleep all the time and he's often about to faint or throw up onstage.
KEVIN:Yeah,I know...Ill give some phone calls tomorrow so we can try to plan to get a two weeks break in a couple of days or something.But we have to talk to Nick.I think it would be for the best if he told his fans he has diabetes.
JOE:Yeah...They already suspect somethings up with Nick,and they're gonna find out sooner or later anyways.
KEVIN:So,when do we tell Nicholas?
JOE:Well tell him after the concert tonight.
KEVIN:Deal.
The two brothers heard Nick coughing and the toilet flushing again.Nick then entered Joe s room very slowly,trying not to loose his grip on the door's knob.The fourteen year old s hair was a mess and he was so pale he looked like a ghost.He was barely able to stand and walk.
NICK:Guys,I-...
Nick was close to the tears.His voice was weak and he looked miserable.
NICK:I really dont think I can make the show tonight.I just dont feel good at all and I just dont think I can take it anymore...
Nick was inturrupted by a choked sob escaping his throat.Joe immediatly stood up to envelop his little brother in a comforting embrace.A tear rolled down Joe s cheek as he ran his hand softly through his brother s curls.
JOE: Alls gonna be okay Nick...I promise...he whispered,pulling his brother closer to him.
Nick started crying uncontrolalbly.He couldnt help but feel so weak and tired all the time.Suddenly,all went black and Nick collapsed in Joe s arms.His brothers exchanged panicked looks and Kevin rushed to the phone as Joe attempted unsuccessfully to reanimate Nick s unconscious body while letting his tears fall freely.

the ppl that leave hate comments and argue over youtube r stupid!! well mostly the ppl who have no life and watch vids of ppl they dont like and leave hate comments XP the ppl who r trying 2 defend themselves by telling those ppl they shouldnt be watching this if they dont like them well i can understand where ur coming from but its not like we can change their minds (or the fact that they have nonthing better 2) but im sick and tried of the hate go get life really!! i like the story btw :)

Exactly. I despise the Jonas Brothers, and you like them. And our opinions aren't going to change anytime soon. So why are you trying so hard for me to like them? Because you can't help yourself. You NEED to express your opinion to others, and always want to be right. Same goes for the rest of society, it is indeed a free country...so you aren't always gonna like what comes out of peoples mouths.
