@TheBruiser012 yea i said i would never recommend it. and then you start telling me how successful this lifter is, which i don't doubt, just random you brought it up. you need to think clearly for a second. throw me a medicine ball ill catch it. throw me a 185 lb barbell and i wont. balls are made for catching, barbells are made for lifting not throwing. do you see my point? all im saying is this is dangerous, and all it takes is 1 time and you may never lift again.

@TheBruiser012 that has nothing to do with my comment...

@TheBruiser012 how is a medicine ball a smaller target? i can sit and lay on one...there sis no arguing this, a medicine ball is easy to keep up and is rubber to so it is easy to grip. even if it falls on your face you are fine. but a 185 lb bar will break your face...yea I've dropped a 185 lb bar, not on my face/neck obviously because im still here.....don't compare an air filled huge medicine ball to a 185 lb barbell. there are not the same in any way.

@TheBruiser012 wrong, medicine ball is 50 times lighter and has 50 times more surface area for you to block with your hands. this bar is just big enough for you to grip right, as well as 185 pounds. I have dropped a medicine ball on me before and trust me, its nothing like 185 lbs on the barbell.

honestly I would never do this or recommend doing this workout. The chances of you missing the bar are there, it's just a matter of time.
That would suck a lot if you missed the bar. I don't want to try that. But still, crazy and strong. I'm a shot putter (did it for 6th 7th and 8th grade, 4th in state, now I'm going for freshman next year, and I'm decent at discus), so what are other exercises to do for explosive power?

well the best exercises for power for throwing are Power snatch and power cleans, hurdle jumps, box jumps and you can also do the bench throws in a smith machine its much safer and great for shot put a lot of shot putters do those in a smith machine

yeah i know a power rack would be better, or you can do this on a smith machine its even better and safer i been doin this for years but if you are not focused its can be dangerous for sure, great for building explosive power
