John Jay Myers Almost everything about the hotel

I decided to talk about a lot of things that bug me about city hall trying to build a 500 million dollar hotel.
After reviewing it, I realized there is still more I would like to add. The race card being played for no reason by other members of council etc.

But... I think this covers most of the bases.

All good points John. It makes me sick how these games are played with other peoples money. Building a hotel is not a problem. Who builds it is, and you've hit the nail on the head when you show that there is no protection for the tax payer here if it fails under government management. Just look how well the DISD is run and all the scams that have been exposed over the last 2-3 years. Boy, "sheeple" sure forget quickly! There are losts of sheep out there that believe anything their gov'ment say.

One last thing I never hear.. If there IS a buffer and I haven't heard about it, and the Hotel goes bust and you default on the Revenue bonds, but don't pay out of the General Fund, what happens to COD's credit rating? Could COD even sell GO Bonds in the future? Not so much.

If I was in the hotel business, I would love for the taxpayers to pay for the construction of my future convention center hotel so that when it fails, I can pick it up on the auction block for dimes on the dollar a year or so after it's completed.
