Me with Red-Tailed Hawk, Pollo.

While at the 2008 NAFA (North American Falconer's Association) in Amarillo, TX., my new-found friend, Summer, let me call her Red-Tailed Hawk to my fist. Although I have studied falconry for years in anticipation for starting it, this was my first time actually handling a bird.

Your lucky your bird is not footy, my Red Tail can be very footy he likes to hit my hand as I take him out of his box, but I am only in my 2nd year so still lots to learn. And still loving every second of it.

@Brad3374 Footy means that the bird grabs aggressively at the falconer's hand - it's often a problem in eyasses.

Sounds like this bird is in poor conditioning - glad you had fun handling it though. He's quite a handsome dark RTH.

beautiful bird, I'm interested that you always stay in the house with you, I saw a dark box to sleep right by the door in the video behind you. really would not mean your experience in keeping a hawk in the house I'm planning jel same. Thanks in advance.
