Actually, this is in context perfectly, and it's even more damaging when you see the whole interview. He says that climate change science isn't settled, the world's temperatures are cooling, and instead of an ETS, 'why not just do it with a simple tax?'

Yep, Abbott bet his career on stopping the Carbon Tax. Thats what all of his black and white character assasinations are about. Its all about confusing the masses. 95% of scientist are in consensus over human induced climate change. Quite frankly, we cant afford not to have it and set an example for other nations. Its great policy, great for the economy, jobs and the environment. Abbott is sitting it the pockets of the wealthy who dont want to take responsibility for their pollution.

On your ballot sheet mark a thick black line through all candidates (including check box) and write "none of the candidates meet my requirements" this way you do not have choose between the lesser of 2 evils. If a majority of voters do this, the election is void and the candidates can never run again. In theory you could do this until we were satisified that the prime minister would be acocuntable and meet our needs instead of corporate interests and lobby groups.

We will get this an additional tax no matter who is in power....that makes ....126 taxes or thereabouts that we are stung with. Most of this tax goes to pay the interest on our exponentially increasing and never repayable (unless we cut essential services) national debt.

All our currency is borrowed into circulation @ interest (which never existed) and is repaid from the vital circulation, when that falls, we again borrow to replenish the circulation (@ interest) Always owing more than exists.

The fact is that if this was decided on non-party lines, there would easily be a 2/3rd majority and maybe 75%.

Half on the Coalition side actually agrees with it and supported Malcolm Turnbull who lost to Abbott by one vote and pretty much so does everybody else in Parliament.

It is the Politics that has distorted what would clearly be the democratic process. But even pro-Turnbull mob see the price of Government to be more important than ANYTHING ELSE.

Abbott is going to get advice from 3 clean energy organizations for his "Direct Action" plan to fight global warming.

- The Clean Energy Council

- Green Buildings Council

- Energy Efficiency Council

Ironically, all 3 organizations advising Abbott strongly SUPPORT a price on carbon …
