A few years ago I saw a TV documentary about Leni Riefenstahl, then bought her books about the awesome Nuba tribes and was fascinated, and particularly by the people of Kau, but at the same time I was devastated to learn about the terrible genocide. I begin to despair of this world, which is riddled with xenophobia as though it were a plague.
