I suspect it's got more to do with the pakistanis in this country who don't respect us and our way of living. Who manipulate the system to get what they want, and run around our schools screaming how great the taliban are.
The global opinion of pakistani's is that you only care for your way of life and couldn't care less about our values and our way of life.
So why should we care?

British soldiers firing potshots at Pakistani intelligence won't defeat an ideology. We supported the Muslim Brotherhood's war against the Soviet and Indian-backed secularist government there, and now we see the effects of our short-sighted folly. We won't endear ourselves to the Afghan people by backing the corrupt wannabe-dictator Karzai, or some other capitalist puppet.

Whether you want to hear what he says here or not; he's right. Afghanistan was left in the dust before and it can't happen again. This a WORLD necessity not simply a USA or Britain need. These folks will be right back at it with more and even deadlier force. Over forty years of my life I watched these folks (Radical Islamists) murder hundreds of thousands of people in every religion and race. It's time we fight back and pummel them into submission. We must win this war.
