You probably know very good cover of this song by Buddy Guy. But this is the blues by Roosevelt Sykes and here you will hear the original version, brilliantly played and sang by Memphis Slim! Yet another gem from the 'Memphis Slim meets Roosevelt Sykes' session. Memphis plays and sings accompanied by Roosevelt Sykes on the second piano.

But who was Miss Ida B? Well, Memphis and Roosevelt talk about it, shedding some light on the character and the story of the girl immortalized by this amazing song!..

  • @SUNNYRHOADES9 how in the blue hell did we go from Memphis Slim and Roosevelt Sykes, to lady gaga, justin beiber, and the jonas brothers(i will not justify them by capitalizing their names...call it a one-man protest

  • @d820m Not a one-man protest, I think half the world would agree with you, I know I do !!

  • @d820m Amen to that!

  • My face is hurtin' from smilin'. Thanks for posting this great item!

  • @bertrandui true...the racism of the times in the US chased players like Memphis Slim to Paris and Eddie Boyd to Finland, and Champion Jack Dupree to Germany they just got sick of it and left....they were more respected overseas than in their own country and that was, and still is, a shame

  • This is Great!!!

  • @wmg737

Type 'Mother Earth Memphis Slim' into Google. First hit.

  • These two men complimented each other beautifully-natural extensions of each other. What a great running commentary!

  • Wow I never new that Memphis Slim Died in Paris in 1988 - They didnt even cover this legendary Man's Funeral -R.I.P My Friend .

  • The great Memphis Slim lived in France during 36 years. Unfortunetely, he died in Paris during the winter 1988.
