From Labor Day 1981, here is a news intro from WEWS, Ch. 5 in Cleveland. This was probably the day that they introduced their new news set and graphics package. You'll catch a glimpse of the late Gib Shanley doing a sports tease, plus Jeff Maynor, who moved later to Ch. 3 in Cleveland and retired in 2011.

@bhilcu1 Jeff already retired a month ago (shortly after the station announced his contract wouldn't be renewed). Weekend meteorologist AJ Colby was the other staffer affected; his last date is indeed May 29.

Regarding Jeff Maynor saying "Welcome to the new home of Eyewitness News..." this obviously was when WEWS unveiled their new news set and graphics package (which probably explains the small glitches in the open).
