@74kyB School head (cont'd): "Animals in general, what's their purpose on Earth, how can we treat them well, especially the bulls". Child1:"I think that bullfighting is really cruel because in Spain it's a game, entertainment for the people, whereas the bull is unwillingly taken, and killed" Child2: "They will make animals suffer". The message was obviously well received. This original Brittany tour will end this week-end, but could maybe be followed by a national tour.
@74kyB Christophe:'"This is why I wanted to use another approach: showing the bull himself, in order to try and increase this way the public awareness to the animal condition." Journalist:"A public awareness that has been included in the educational cursus of the school:" School head:" In the frame of weekly philosophical debates in class, we are also interested in the animal condition, and we found it was really addressing some questions from the children:
@74kyB "...A promise kept 30 years later with the acquisition of Fadjen, who somehow became the symbol of his campaign." Christophe:"It's both a simple and a non-shocking method to campaign against bullfighting. Indeed I know there are a lot of very sensitive people who just cannot watch pictures of bullfight on TVnews, even though those are very toned down compared to what really happens.
@74kyB Christophe:"In people's inconscious, they say, ' a bullfight bull should attack, why doesn't he attack you?' Moreover I often wear red clothes, 'doesn't he attack you because of the color?' There are prejudices that need to be addressed, ideas that are false". The journalist:"As a child, C. Thomas had been shocked by a piece of artwork depicting a bullfighting scene, and this inhabitant of Brittany had promised to himself that one day he would save one of these animals from the arenas.
