And another fragment from this great work. The Cardinal Morone is sung by German wagnerian bass-baritone Ferdinand Frantz, who remained in shadow of his great colleague Hans Hotter. Unfortunately the recording quality here doesn't allow to get a full idea of his timbre, but the singing culture is still remarcable.

This scene is the session of the Trident Council, and Morone helds the opening speech and talks about high tasks of Christian Church :) Actually, this scene has little to do with the main plot of the opera.
