And another fragment from this great work. The Cardinal Morone is sung by German wagnerian bass-baritone Ferdinand Frantz, who remained in shadow of his great colleague Hans Hotter. Unfortunately the recording quality here doesn't allow to get a full idea of his timbre, but the singing culture is still remarcable.

  • This scene is the session of the Trident Council, and Morone helds the opening speech and talks about high tasks of Christian Church :) Actually, this scene has little to do with the main plot of the opera.
