It determines how aggressive they initially are placed and spawned. Harder adds more spawning enemies and speeds up the timer before they are allowed to hit you. On the lowest difficulty it takes several seconds before the very 1st enemy can hit. On hardest it takes no more than 1 second tops for the 1st enemy to hit. The game features a dynamic difficulty feature that increases the difficulty for each enemy you kill without getting hit yourself. It gets VERY challenging.

I played this game when i was 9 yo :D little kid playing hard n good stuff like this~
miss the comical scene and some gory... wish they remake this game (not the "New" Area 51) with still retain all such of those scene
