Good timing with the pictures. I love this Hymn! And I love this arrangement by the Mormon tabernacle choir and the beautiful pipe organ!

Actually when we turn to the Scriture we can find the following too:
"The doctrine of the Trinity is encapsulated in Matthew 28:19, where Jesus instructs the apostles: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

I have a question for you EMeritusz, Why did the Apostles always baptize people "in the name of JESUS CHRIST"? Were they doing something contrary to Matt. 28:19? Did anyone ever get baptized in the Bible saying "in the name of the Father, Son , and Holy Spirit"? If so please send me the verse. Thanks

Hi Everyone!
Well, it would not hurt to check church history out what the Church Fathers were saying about that.

Hey, which "church" history are you referring to? And also, would you be willing to believe the Word of God solely based on it's exact words regardless of church history? No matter what we can dig up and find on church history for whatever viewpoint, would you place more esteem on that than the ACTUAL WORDS OF THE BIBLE?

We must understand what the apostles meant referring to the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, for they are the ones who wrote the N.T. and walked with the Lord. We need to have the same mind the apostles did and not follow later teachings inserted by men. The apostles never spoke of a trinity, nor taught that there were 3 divine persons in the Godhead, this is a later development added by man/religion. Look it up...they also changed baptism.
