google to find the name of the hotel there. they might have numbers that you can call from Denpasar, Bali to book. But, it's so easy to find hotel in Sumba. If you like adventure, just go there. You will be fine. If you like to see the ancient war games, go there in the middle of February to early March for PASOLA. google it, if you want to understand Pasola. It will worthy. Surfing, ancient villages and Pasola, that's Sumba (west Sumba)! btw local people don't surf. Foreigners do!

the best way to go to Sumba is from Denpasar, Bali, take a flight to Tambolaka Airport, West Sumba. From there you take a public transport to Waikabubak Town (the capital City), and stay at any hotel there. You can ask the hotel manager to help you go around the Island, for example surfing, see the ancient village, water Falls, etc. Flight will cost you around $85 bucks one way from denpasar to Tambolaka airport. You want to get cash (Indonesian rupias) in Denpasar, Bali.

Have no idea what is the easiest way. I know only two ways ... Once I came with Pelni boat from Ende (Flores) and once with plane from Denpasar (Bali).
