A singer struggles with a defective microphone while singing the national anthem before a South Georgia Peanuts game in Albany, GA.As the Peanuts watch in amazement, manager Wally Backman mutters that he hopes the defective microphone is captured on camera, to illustrate the many problems with the newly formed South Coast League. After getting some sunflower seeds from hitting coach Larry Olenberger, Backman looks across the diamond at the visiting Charlotte County Redfish and says, "Yup, these guys are bad."

  • a defective mic means defective monitors for her to hear herself... it is a very real possibility that she is a great singer. Its hard to sing acappella when you cant hear yourself. Maybe she awful..but she also may have a good reason..

  • @RedRanger23 - Agreed.

  • @AngryActivist45 - Wow, you guys are HARSH. Try this - put some earplugs in your ear and record yourself singing something. Then play it back. It's going to sound AWFUL.

  • Even though the constant key changing, you can tell that she has an excellent voice. I'd imagine that when there's music, she sings beautifully.

  • It would be nice if it was sung with the correct pitches :S

  • 0:01 No commercials!!!!

  • I can tell she can sing but she just got nervous and she was all over the place. The National Anthem is a very difficult song to sing. I believe she started in the wrong key and it messed her up. At least she had guts to plow through.

  • @playingforpeanuts - You're just absolutely incorrect. A vocalist hears themselves from within their chest. Whether or not the sound system was cutting in and out should have absolutely nothing to do with her staying within one key. If anything, it probably distracted her and she got nervous, and that's a performance failure on her part. You absolutely cannot say that her jumping from one key to another to another was because of the mic turning on and off. She has a poor sense of pitch.

  • okay she has a beautiful tone! BUT the mics have nothing to do with her inability to sing on key she doesnt have a musical ear! no excuses she has a nice tone BUT is not a singer a singer can sing and stay on key EVEN through a faulty mic!

  • THAT WAS HORRIBLE.

  • She's a terrible singer period. even though the mic wasn't working she could hear her own voice since everybody were quiet. Heck, i can even sing in tune in someone else's concert.

  • Sounds like the wireless receiver was off and that's why it was going in and out like that. Either that or someone's fucking with you. Lol

  • @playingforpeanuts Nope i still sound good haha. She can not sing. She would be told to leave American Idol after o say ca...haha
