Recently Reverted Poem

Salaam sisters and brothers.
Firstly I want to thank you for your very positive and lovely messages of support with my first video. You have all welcomed me into a wonderful loving family and so many of you have led me to wonderful websites.

This new video is little poem that I wrote today (with a little help from India Arie from her song 'I am not my hair' )I heard it whilst I was at work this morning and it really struck a chord about how often we women are often classified by our image including /espcially our hair styles.
Since reverting to Islam I have discovered how wrong I was before as I held my own misconceptions about women wearing hijabs. I feel utterley liberated wearing mine and so should you!
For we sisters, are not our hair, nor are we our skin, we are not mans expections.
We are the soul which lays within!

We are Allah's expectations!
for it isour souls which are judged, not the size of our waist, bust , the style of our hair, the styles of our clothes, the make up on our faces etc

Plus have a search for Native Deen! they are reallllllllly good!
If you have any further suggestions for me then my ears are open as I am like a big sponge at the moment. =)
