Pietà -- Zapping de Sentidos is a video installation consisting of a video projection and two objects of the hospital daily routine: a wheelchair and a stretcher for carrying patients. The viewer takes part in this video installation, since the speed of the video projected is determined by his or her proximity and movement in relation to the video instalation. Pietà -- Zapping de Sentidos aims to provoke refl ection on human behaviour and conduct associated with current terrorist activities. The video uses images of suffering children - as a symbolic representation of innocence - after having survived a terrorist attack. The images
came from the media, which are also studied in this thesis, in particular by its analysis of the dissemination of dramatic content. Pietà -- Zapping de Sentidos promotes a critical review of the current model followed by the media, which is based on high speed content dissemination, developer of a new perception of information content.
