Baltimores Mayor Sheila Dixon was convicted on Dec. 1, 2009, by a jury of her peers, of stealing gift cards, worth about $525, intended for "the poor and needy." As a result, she will forfeit her office, lose her $83,000 a year pension, and could go to jail. Her crime paled in significance to the massive wrongdoings of the Wall Street Mob, but, the State Prosecutor underscored to the jury: The Mayor was stealing "from the children of Baltimore!"

  • Baltimore better rally together and kick her out of office!

  • So the corrupt ex-mayor can now spend her days shoplifting from the Best Buy and Nordstroms. Have fun.

  • Keriblu what if your colleagues felt that way about you? Don't think you are exempt from doing wrong, hence, now that you put yourself out there you are going to have to find out what it means to have a little compassion on your fellow being.

  • Voo, I pray with all my heart that your work picks up, I work in pediatrics, we we serve underpriveledged children so I understand your passion for this situation but just consider maybe that there could be some underlying issues you and I, the public just don't know about which could change how we feel about the situation. Always look for the good in people and good will indeed come to you.

  • voo, never say never, I learned that the hard way! the same measure in which wejudge we have to be judged. I don't know Mayor Dixon but my discernment of other human beings heart has never been wrong-this woman was a victim of the devils trap to kill, steal and destroy her, she will however walk in victory again. I just ask us to be very careful of how we judge another for we will find ourselves begging for mercy and forgiveness too when we have to "now see how it feels"

  • Househead, I agree every crime should be punishable by law but think about what her children are going through having to hear people condemn their mother like this-this is what keeps me from being so quick to judge others - "He who is without sin go ahead and cast the first stone" there was a jury selected to judge her case and even that was found to be faulty - don't let the sun go down in your anger, it gives a mighty foothold to the devil-you begin to act in harshly towards others, not good.
