A study for a self composing patch with my mini Buchla 200e system.

No MIDI or sequencers were used. Everything was triggered and controlled by the mighty 266e source of uncertainty module.
The patch can play for infinite time an incredible number of permutations.

  • @MongoSynth @MongoSynth Hi, thanks!

It's not just the 266e per se.

It's not just a matter of a piece of technology, but how you use it.

You've gotta ask yourself what are the elements that organizes sounds into music. the more factors are involved, the more changing will occur. the more interesting will be.

  • @toborexperiment visit my soundcloud and search for a piece called

Automatic self composing music for ballet - part#1

it was done with a system with just one single 261 oscillator

  • While I was listening to this video, some other video that I opened in a new tab started playing on the background, and they ended up as a great mix.

(Link to the second video: watch?v=sCCe5asNm70&feature=related )

    check it out.

In short; this piece is already great, but it can also be great on a totally different level with a drum machine beat.

  • I assume there was some overdubbing?

  • @celesteh1

no overdubbing or editing at all.

what you hear is what you see.

    The patch self play everything.

  • my theology: God created makind so that he may create modular synths who return to our mortal ears the revealing sound of Gods own voice. The celestial circle of purpose is fullfilled. ..in other words this is good music

  • so where do you find one of these things?

  • nice patch, now if you could also get some longer term structure that would be really impressive...

  • @toborexperiment fantastic!!

  • @toborexperiment

    fantastic..

  • great video !!!!

  • Amazing. Can't say I haven't heard anything that sounds like it, but nothing that composes on it's own. Is it like putting a "random" button on a synth?

  • wow… o_o the machine, it's alive!! such surreal sounds~

  • Very nice!

  • very space age sound. i like it.

  • Beautifull!
