Rare! MBTA Extra with Genset Switcher & Caboose!

Right as I got to the Mishawum platform, this work extra came along. MBTA genset switcher 3249, a box car, and a work extra caboose thing.

Thanks! That's actually an MBTA box car, MBTX is one of their reporting marks. The X means they own the box car but don't actually operate it.

That's an old Amtrak Mail Car in the middle. The T might have bought it from Amtrak. I worked a few times on trains 11 and 12 "The Fast Mail" back in the 90's we would have about 12 Mail cars with 2 coaches and a cafe... They hauled heavy mail on pallets and it took a long time to go from DC to BOS as we had to stop almost everywhere to unload pallets...
