After 100 tries is finnally in.....a lot of work put into this swap with only 2 days a week done all by me,n sure some help of course...mods needed on this swap leave me a comment or msg and ask.

  • Egr delete kit has some tubes that goes to the front of the upper plenum,the position on the tubes changes 2 the j30 plenum and the holes to put the screws in change as well and you won't be able 2 screw them tight enough onto the intake

  • I'm alreday mid swap did your j30 engine have vtc solenoids on the back intake cams cause mine didn't I don't know if I should leave them off or try and swap or what?? I'm wondering if since it dosent have those that may mean I would want to use my old vtc intake gears?? Any opinions would be helpfull

  • Yeah mine's did every plug and solenoid are all the same execpt the fuel injenctors(93+) ,but if you have the old 300zx engine don't throw it away keep it for future needs.....yes you can use your old gears anything from the 300zx vg30 is useful in that of the j30 vg30

  • Well almost everything you are just using the engine block.

    U need the oil pan/pump,manifolds,upper plenum,injectors,fuel rail,balance tube,crank angle sensor,egr delete kit(back of engine) top radiator water pipe. Almost everything...I will just tell you save up for the original engine cuz really you don't want to go thru what I went/been going cuz I haven't finished yet

  • You need to post a new video of your motor swap I would like to change my motor I have a 1993 300zx 2+2 in I buy a 1993 j30 motor to replace will it work

  • Why would you do all that work for a NA Z?

  • you didnt need to change the oil pump...just the pan and the pickup tube. I have successfully installed the higher-volume twin turbo oil pump on a VG30 for a J30. Also, I have done the inverse of your conversion: Cali-model NA Z32 VG30 engine into an OBD2 J30. I have also done OBD1 to OBD2 conversion of another VG30. Just an FYI. The CAS is the same as well. You could have made the intake work, but the exhaust manifolds are totally different but the intake is easy to swap anyway.

  • so whats the egr delete consist of? do u just unplug the egr plug (2 wire) and block off the holes on the intake plenum? let me know please thanks.

  • Ok I was a little worryed cause my z is a 93 but the j30 motor is a 96 so I'm swaping all electrical over but I just hope the vtc still functions. I should be done by Friday I'll let u know how mine goes
