  • Some marvelously expressive playing here! Even watching you without the sound is a study in what fluency at the keyboard should look like. This comes from practice and dedication to the art of piano performance. Now for some notes:

1.) Look out for dynamics on lines 1 to 2 and play the first 3 lines a little slower.

2.) 0:44 - 0:59 LH should be VERY soft and RH should be brought out plus you must lift off for all the rests which you can see in the score.

  • 3.) 1:00 - 1:02 there should be ped connecting these two chords and then release ped as soon as possible once you play the second chord.

4.) 1:03 - 1:05 the triplet quavers should be even. Think of counting 1-2-3 as if there was a met in your head at the time. It sounded more like 1-2---3. They are all the same length.

  • 23.) 4:10 - 4:11 there is a crochet rest between each of these chords! So where the second chord was played, this was at the same time where you should have had a rest.

    24.) 4:31 - 4:32 don't forget the fingering in the RH with fingers 3-2-5.

The rest of it you play VERY well. Things which I haven't mentioned you are now doing. Other than all of this, it is a wonderful performance! Now you need to pull out all stops before the performance. Will you be able to do this? We will see.

  • 19.) 3:21 - 3:24 slower and build up speed bu playing with REAL sound! Spend at least 10 to 15 minutes getting this right. It will help you with the end of Kashmar.

20.) 3:28 there is a pause and so keep'em guessing what might come next!

21.) 3:29 - 3:51 do repeats in both of these sections or the structure of the piece is uneven.

22.) 3:44 - 3:52 the ending of this section is an octave higher in the LH. Practice this 30 times in a row every day before performance. Good in lesson!

  • 15.) 1:37 put ped down before starting section and then change on the C with the 4th finger in the RH. Also, we want this to be smoother between the hands.

    16.) 2:47 - 2:50 has ped.

17.) 2:51 lift off ped on the first note of this section.

18.) 3:13 - 3:18 you need to do the rest here. You can do it when I say, "Rest" and so maybe you need to SAY it to yourself. between each chord say, "rest".

  • 10.) 1:59 there is a pause.

11.) 2:00 ped down before you start this run and then ped changes on each C with the 4th finger.

12.) 2:16 - 2:29 you rushed this section. Don't do it faster than the last time you played this pattern.

13.) 2:30 do not suddenly slow down at this point. You must keep the speed that you had before otherwise it loses the expression and momentum.

    14.) 1:36 there is a pause.

  • Work on all the points I have typed here so far. Now this is after the lesson:

    5.) 1:03 - 1:05 should be much softer!

6.) 1:15 - 1:19 should be more in time. At the moment it sounds a little dotted.

7.) 1:22 should be soft at the start of this section and then there is a big cresc. by the time you reach 1:38

8.) Check the LH notes at 1:52

9.) There is a little bit of string. from 1:52 - 1:58 (which means speeding up gradually and not TOO fast by the time you reach 1:58
