Recorded in June, 1958, in Shreveport, LA, this recording features, among others, D.J. Fontana (early Elvis's drummer!) and Roy Buchanan on guitar. This was issued on Checker records.
Dale Hawkins' best known track of course is Susie-Q, from 1957!
Enjoy this pretty rare track. Info on how to get all of Dale Hawkins' stuff, go to his web site or purchase any of his stuff on Amazon!
I've had this forever on the "My Babe" LP but I'd never listened to it till Matt the Cat on 50s XM Night Prowl Show brought it to my attention 3 years ago. - my bad huh? I think Roy Buchannan was lead guitar as also on La Do Dah, the flip. J Burton was with him a little earlier - on Checker 863; "Don't Treat Me This Way"

"Cross Ties" was the b-side to Dale Hawkins 45-single, "La Do Da Da" -- Checker 900, released in 1958.
I wonder if guitarist James Burton is in on this one too with Dale.
