The brilliance of the trumpet blended with the majesty and colours of the organ inspires the ensemble HornPipes! Two virtuoso performers, Scott Montgomery and Pamela Smitter-Baker, lend their unique artistic voices to create an exuberant new expression from these traditional instruments.
This duo presents the organ as a dynamic orchestral instrument and the trumpet as a uniquely expressive vocal instrument. HornPipes! is committed to the performance of well-known classical and operatic repertoire in addition to exploring contemporary repertoire created specifically for this combination of instruments. HornPipes! began with the combined artistry of international prize-winning organist Michael Bloss and trumpeter Pamela Smitter-Baker. Currently, organist Scott Montgomery has joined with Pamela as the other member of the "HornPIpes Duo!," and these artists continue to propel their artistic vision to create something new and enticing out of these two familiar timbres.
